Take the First Step to End Alzheimer’s

Did you know an estimated 61,000 residents in Oklahoma are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease? According to the Alzheimer’s Association, by the year 2025, more than 76,000 Oklahomans will have this disease. That’s a 25 percent increase from today.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) has joined the Walk to End Alzheimer’s program by forming a team of employees, family and friends on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in downtown Oklahoma City.

In an effort to raise awareness and increase participation in the walk, BCBSOK held a lunch-and-learn with the Oklahoma Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Representatives spoke about their experiences with the disease and why it’s important to donate and spread awareness.
