Update on 2017 Transition to EyeMed Vision Care
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) will be transitioning from Davis Vision® to EyeMed Vision Care as the vision care vendor on Jan. 1, 2017. This decision will impact mandated coverage including pediatric vision Essential Health Benefit (EHB) for retail, small group and student health membership.
We are sending a letter to affected members notifying them of this transition to EyeMed Vision Care, which they will receive by Nov. 1, 2016.
Please note: Beginning in 2017, a newly added EyeMed discount will be added to the Blue365® member discount program. The Davis Vision discount will remain as well, so that members have the choice of which discount makes the most sense for their situation.
