Special 2016 Composite Billing Update for December Group Renewals
Since Dec. 1, 2015, Composite Billing for all Affordable Care Act (ACA) Metallic plans (including medical and dental plans) has been an option, allowing accounts to be billed with a four-tier composite rate structure [Employee, Employee + Spouse, Employee + Child(ren) and Employee + Family (Spouse with children)].
Unique to December 2016 Renewals
For December group renewals with composite billing, no additional paperwork to remain with Composite Billing is required.
However, if a renewing group currently has Composite Billing (ACA Metallic plans) and wants to revert back to Age Billing at renewal, the group must email a change request to sbscamend@bcbstx.com or fax to 972-231-6931. If the December renewing group is making plan changes, also include the Benefit Program Application (BPA).
Groups with December renewals that include Age Billing and want to change to Composite Billing must submit the Composite Rate Billing Declaration Form.
2017 Changes
Beginning January 2017, the Composite Billing and Age Billing options will be included in the 2017 BPA. Look for the new BPA in an upcoming issue of News from the Blues.
