Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs): Best Practice for Your Patients

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) strives to support our providers in all aspects, including providing the best quality of care. BCBSTX utilizes the American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations on conditions and diagnosis management to create Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs).

The purpose of having CPGs is to set the standard of patient care in order to improve quality of care and health care outcomes. BCBSTX incorporates these CPGs into condition and diagnosis management. These guidelines are made available to our providers via the BCBSTX website.

The conditions BCBSTX prepare CPGs for are:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Asthma
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Depression
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Metabolic Syndrome
  • Tobacco Cessation
  • Weight Management

If you have questions regarding CPGs, send an inquiry to ClinicalPracticeGuidelines@bcbstx.com.
