Our Secure Member Portal, Blue Access for Members^SM, Is Now Available in Spanish

Information about health care benefits, dependents, value-added programs and features, as well as member ID cards, can be accessed anytime, anywhere, in Spanish. Using a computer, smartphone or tablet, members can log in to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) secure member website, Blue Access for Members (BAM^SM). The BCBSIL mobile app is already available in Spanish.

With BAM, members can:

• View coverage and benefit details
• Locate a doctor, hospital or other provider in their health plan’s network
• Use the language filter to locate health professionals who can provide care in Spanish
• Monitor deductible and out-of-pocket spending
• Check the status of a health care claim
• View claims history or print an Explanation of Benefits
• Estimate costs for many health care procedures
• Download important forms, most available in Spanish
• Request new member ID card(s) or print a temporary card
• Access other valuable features and programs like Blue365^® member discounts

Members can also update their language preference. Log in to BAM, go to Settings/Preferences at the top of the home page, and select Spanish as the primary preferred language.

Member marketing fliers with steps on how to register for BAM are available in English and Spanish. Slides will be available soon for groups to share with their employees.
