HHSC’s MEDsys Contract Expires Nov. 6, 2018

The Health and Human Services Commission’s (HHSC) contract with MEDsys will expire Nov. 6, 2018, and is not renewing. MEDsys is operating under its second corrective action plan due to data issues, which does not meet HHSC’s goal of ensuring the accuracy of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) data.

To lessen the impact of this change to providers:

• The HHSC is working in collaboration with MEDsys to transition all providers in phases to Datalogic (i.e., Vesta^®) before the MEDsys contract expires.
• Providers should continue using their EVV system until the transition is complete.

MEDsys data and system improvement efforts will remain underway during this time.

The HHSC will be providing additional communications after completing discussions with MEDsys, Datalogic, Managed Care Organizations and the HHSC’s leadership.
