How to Keep the Cash Flowing: Home Health Provider Claim Submission Tips

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) recognizes the importance of paying our participating providers quickly and efficiently. Below is important information home health providers need to know to expedite payment of their claims.

Home Health and Long-term Service Support (LTSS) Billing
Participating home health providers are requested to submit claims electronically to BCBSTX within 95 days of the date of service. They may also use the standard CMS-1500 or CMS-1450 claim forms.

Home Health Providers
All providers rendering home health services are required to use the standard CMS-1450 form.

Home Health LTSS
All providers rendering LTSS are required to use the CMS-1500 claim form.

Claim Coding
Coding will mirror TMHP’s (Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership) guidelines found in the most current Texas Medicaid Provider Procedures Manual.
