Operator of BCBSIL Recognized for Culture of Diversity
Wins 2013 Black Data Processing Associates Epsilon Award

The operator of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) received the “Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) Epsilon Award: Top Company for Blacks in IT” – the only company that has won this award three times. The award was recently presented at the 35th annual BDPA National Conference in Washington, D.C.

BDPA Corporate Epsilon Awards are given to corporations that have shown a strong commitment to people, promote a culture of diversity within the workforce and understand that this diversity has a bottom line business case value. Each year, the National BDPA organization surveys Fortune 1000 companies to assess their internal workplace and career development opportunities. The following rating categories are used: Tenure, Promotions and Terminations; Leadership Development and Advancement Programs; Supplier Diversity Programs; and Community Outreach Programs.

Founded in 1975, BDPA has forums on national, regional and local levels. In 2005, our Information Technology Group became a corporate sponsor and created a chapter within the company.
