ACA Data Collection Begins Soon
For fully insured employer groups with 25 to 125 subscribers

Fully insured employer groups with 25 to 125 subscribers will soon receive a data collection request to assist with Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) calculation requirements. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois will ask these targeted groups to report their monthly average number of employees (including full, part-time and seasonal) for the 2012 calendar year.

If your group has a subscriber count above or below the targeted threshold of 25 to 125 subscribers, you will not be contacted for data collection information, and therefore may disregard this message.

A special email communication to targeted groups contains a link to the Regulatory Data Collection site, available under the “View Regulatory Data” link within the Blue Access for EmployersSM (BAE) home page. (Refer to this screen shot to see the exact location of the link.)

Groups are requested to complete the Regulatory Data Collection Form prior to Nov. 15, 2013. (Please note, attempts to enter collections after 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2013 will not be allowed by the BAE system.) This deadline provides Blue Cross and Blue Shield with adequate time to determine MLR calculations, based partially on the data collection information received.

Previously Entered Information
Approximately 150 groups entered their regulatory data through BAE before the official collections began. While these groups will still receive a request to input their data in to BAE, a special line will be included in requests to let groups know that they do not need re-enter their data.

Questions related to data collection can be directed to 800-414-7147, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday.
