Reminder: Illinois Employers with 2 to 150 Employees Have Additional Product Options Starting March 1

Beginning March 1, 2013, employers who use our Blue Advantage EntrepreneurSM and BluePrintSM product groups will be able to choose multiple products from each group. Also, employers will be able to select up to six plans, instead of a maximum of three. If three or more products are selected, one must be an HSA (health savings account) plan.

For example, an employer could choose two PPO plans, one HMO plan, a BlueChoice SelectSM plan and a BlueEdge HSASM plan. Employers can mix plans that use Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois’ broad PPO network, our narrower BlueChoice Select network, and our HMO network. They also can choose plans that offer different copays and deductibles.

This offer applies to all new business with effective dates on or after March 1, 2013. This offer also is available, from March 1, 2013, forward, to existing accounts whose renewal dates have already commenced in 2013.
