More Flexibility, More Choices with Illinois Standard Products

New Choices and Options Start Jan. 1
As of Jan. 1, 2013, employer groups of all sizes have new choices and a broader range of options when selecting among BlueAdvantage EntrepreneurSM and BluePrintSM plans.

  • Groups now have the flexibility to select up to three plans, regardless of the type of product, instead of being limited to one plan from each product group.
  • Plus, when selecting several PPO plans that use the same large provider network, groups can offer different deductibles and copayments.
  • Please note: The option for employers to select up to three plans only applies to groups whose renewals have already commenced in 2013.

Even More Flexibility Begins March 1
And beginning March 1, 2013, employer groups with 2 to 150 employees can choose up to six plans from different product groups, rather than a maximum of three, when selecting from the Blue Advantage Entrepreneur and BluePrint plans.

  • When selecting three or more products, one must be an HSA (health savings account) plan.
  • Employers can select multiple plans from different product groups. For example, an employer could choose two PPO plans, one HMO plan, a BlueChoice Select® plan and a BlueEdge HSASM plan.
  • Employers can select plans that use different provider networks – for example, a PPO network plan, a BlueChoice Select network plan and an HMO network plan.
  • Employers also choose plans that offer different copayments and deductibles.
