Required Recontracting: New Standard Producer Agreement
New Electronic and Automated System
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) is rolling out a new standard Producer Agreement and using an electronic recontracting system to save time and costs associated with paper forms, hard copy mailings and file maintenance. What It Means for You • The online recontracting system is easy to use and takes only a few clicks to complete.
• All producers and agency principals are required to sign the new contract.
• You no longer have to work with paper or hard-copy contracts, thick packets or snail mail.
• You can view, print or download contract documents.
• If you are a multi-state producer, you only sign the agreement once.
• You’ll know within days when the process is complete. Recontracting Project Planned in Phases ― Phase 1 to Begin Next Week
So that we can adequately manage the process and serve our producers, the recontracting initiative will be completed in phases. For each phase, producers and agency principals will first receive an email from BCBSTX. It will contain recontracting details, FAQs, next steps and a recontracting how-to guide. Within days, they receive a second email with the recontracting “invitation” ― a producer-specific link that launches the process. For example, phase one producers and agency principals will receive detailed instructions tomorrow, and their email invitations to recontract on Monday. Note that producers who signed the new agreement during last summer's BCBSTX recontracting initiative won't receive these emails. Those producers are already working under the new contract.
